General Information

Solo and ensemble occurs in January or February each calendar year for high school band and choir students at a location in Hamilton or Clermont county. Middle school solo and ensemble is in March or April. It is organized by members of the Ohio Music Education Association. Students in high school must select a piece off of the required repertoire list and prepare that piece to play for an adjudicator on the day of the event. Middle school solo and ensemble students prepare a piece of their choosing. OMEA does not have a repertoire list for middle school musicians. Registration for the event is done by Mr. Smith prior to the winter holiday break. Registration for solo and ensemble also includes a fee that needs to be paid at the time of registration.
