6th Grade Band

Sixth grade band is the beginning band class at Batavia Middle School.  For the first two weeks of school, students work on reading notes and rhythms so that we can read music notation while we make beginning sounds on our instruments.  Students are assembling instruments in small groups by the third week of school, and by October we are playing songs out of Essential Elements Band Book 1. Sixth grade band students are expected to practice regularly at home.  The two separate classes combine to perform one concert in December and one in April.
